You’d be surprised how much variation there is in the industry when it comes to “standard MSP services.” Typically, you’ll get 24/7 threat monitoring and automated software patch updates, but beyond that, you’ll need to ask for details.
Specifically, check into “should-be-standard” services like understandable threat reporting, after-hours patch updates applied in a timely fashion, 24/7 support with a real-live human being who doesn’t communicate in “geekspeak,” both PC and Mac support, email support, hands-on break-fix support… details you would normally assume are included with IT support.
Boutique services are what really make up the differences between one MSP and the next – and there’s a lot of variation here too. While you’re evaluating your potential IT services provider, ensure that you find one of the top Managed Services Providers that offers services your company specifically needs.

In addition, make sure the MSP you’re evaluating has specific experience working with your industry, and look out for red flags, like if the MSP tells you you’ll have to replace all your systems before they’ll start working with you.
